<\/p>
Design and methods: <\/strong><\/p>\n A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was administered to employees in 14 of 17 Norwegian ministries 9–10 months after the 2011 bombing of the government headquarters in Oslo (n = 3520). <\/p>\n Results: <\/strong><\/p>\n About 198 of 1881 employees completing the survey were at work when the bomb exploded. Regression analysis showed that this high-exposed group had elevated perceived threat (? = 0.36; 95% CI = 0.19 to 0.53) and reduced perceived safety (? = ?0.42; 95% CI = ?0.62 to ?0.23) compared to a reference group of employees not at work. <\/p>\n After adjusting for posttraumatic stress reactions, however, proximity to the explosion no longer mattered, whereas posttraumatic stress was associated with both high perceived threat (? = 0.55; 95% CI = 0.48 to 0.63) and low perceived safety (? = ?0.71; 95% CI, ?0.80 to ?0.63). <\/p>\n Conclusion: <\/strong><\/p>\n Terror-exposed employees feel more threatened and less safe after a workplace terrorist attack, and this is closely linked to elevated levels of posttraumatic stress reactions.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"file":0,"project":[0]},"publication_tag":[],"topic_tax":[],"class_list":["post-5840","academic-article","type-academic-article","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/academic-article\/5840","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/academic-article"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/academic-article"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5840"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"publication_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/publication_tag?post=5840"},{"taxonomy":"topic_tax","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nkvts.dev08.dekodes.no\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic_tax?post=5840"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
